An Introduction
I live and work in Warwickshire in
the United Kingdom, where I divide my time between a full time job as a Human
Resources professional for an international company, and my first love - Art.
I am a South African by birth, and trained at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg,
where I gained a degree in Fine Art, majoring in Printmaking and Art History. I
have exhibited in South Africa
and have work in the Cape Town National gallery. For the last four years I have exhibited in London and Warwickshire.
I have also completed a number of commissions.
As can be seen from the gallery, my main interest is
in landscapes and I use a variety of mediums. My influences are wide and
eclectic, but secondary to my love of colour and nature. My work is
impressionistic in style, using a variety of marks and mediums. I rarely
include figures in my landscapes because I want the viewer to experience a
personal response to them - as if they were in them and experiencing
them first hand.
Some work is completed in situ, while others are completed
in the studio using photographs and sketches to recreate the experience and
landscape.
